Birthday Cards

Well, I have been A.W.O.L for a while. I can't really blame any one cause for my absence, but I can see several factors that played into it. One was the World Card-making event's that I participated in several of which used up a lot of my card making energies. Another is, that while I did not post it, I did work on a set of ATC's for an ATC swap. Spent a good bit of time on those since several ideas I played with didn't pan out. One thing I learned is that I don't find myself very fond of ATC's due to the size limitation. None-the-less, I signed up for it and I persevered until I finally managed a finished product I was okay with swapping. Unfortunately I was so stressed and so afraid of missing my deadline that I mailed them off without getting a picture. Oh well. And then the third issue to is a major contributing factor is that I asked my DH for a Kindle for my birthday and he obliged and even let me have it as soon as it arrived rather than make me wait for my birthday. Partly because there is only a 30-day return and it was more than 30 days until my birthday, but also because the warranty started immediately and who wants six weeks of a warranty to expire before you even touch an item? Anyway, I got my Kindle and I LOVE it! I have read no less than 5 Jane Austen classics (okay, one was a short story, but still . . . ) since getting it on the fourth of October. I started a new book last night, a Harry Potter fan fiction - James Potter and the Hall of Elder's Crossing. And I have about 70 other books already downloaded and all of them were FREE offerings from Amazon (except for the three HP fan fictions written by G. Norman Lippert). And so, there are my excuses :)

So, here we go with the cards I worked on today. I needed to add to my OWH collection, and knowing they need birthday cards I thought I would make a few up. But I was undecided about colors and ended up with a mix and match set up. I still don't know which color configuration I like best and actually think I will run with these and make up four more for a complete set of eight. The cute mouse is a Tina Wenke stamp from Stampavie, the patterned paper is from a DCWV mini stack, the solid green is a Michaels generic from years ago and the Happy Birthday sentiment is a stamp and die set from papertreyink.

Hopefully I will balance out all my interests so that I don't miss so many weeks between cards and posts! :)
